On April 11, 2003, The Center for Entrepreneurship co-organized the conference, 'Growth in Competitive Conditions: Faster, Higher, Stronger...' Over 70 growth entrepreneurs, consultants, investment professionals, as well as top managers from large companies participated in the conference, focusing on ways to improve company success in increasingly competitive markets. The full-day conference was divided into panel discussions that addressed issues growth companies face, such as growth strategies, implementing these strategies, and raising capital. Dennis Bugrov from McKinsey & Company discussed 'Elements of Successful Growth Strategies,' outlining examples of international companies, such as Gillette, that have remained strong by acquiring and creating new products. Elena Chirkova from Deloitte & Touche expanded upon this theme by discussing diversification, using companies like Revlon and GE as examples.
