Startup Accelerators: Catalysts for Innovation

Whether virtual or in person, startup accelerators provide informal feedback and guidance on the technology or business concept you're pursuing. These collaborative workspaces, often referred to as 'hackerspaces', are where creative problem-solvers can help you pivot from an exhausted idea or break down a good idea and rebuild it into something even better. Many startup accelerators focus on specific types of businesses—consumer services, social media, healthcare technology—and amass high levels of expertise within their accelerators. The Center for Entrepreneurship offers two pivotal programs: the ScaleUp Accelerator and Startup Club. Both programs offer critical connections and resources. The ScaleUp Accelerator is a 9-month program with individual mentors. It provides participants access to key knowledge modules ranging from marketing and sales to managing people and operations. The Startup Club is organized in a way that participants receive guidance from industry mentors and experts.

The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation is a renowned organization committed to advancing educational achievement and entrepreneurial success. It provides grants, conducts research, and fosters programs that help individuals gain the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in business. Additionally, the US Department of State supports international exchange programs and initiatives that promote entrepreneurship globally. Junior Achievement empowers young people to own their economic success through programs that promote entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy. Lastly, the American Chamber Of Commerce strengthens business ties between the US and other countries, providing a platform for businesses to engage in dialogue and collaboration on issues of mutual interest.
